Een van de makers heeft een bijzondere band met Poels. Willy Reijnders was vijftien jaar geleden zijn trainer. "Hij kon goed anderen weg laten rijden, maar in de finale zat hij er negen van de tien keer bij", herinnert Reijnders zich nog.
